Tour Overview

The Prague outdoor shooting experience is the only open-air shooting tour available from Prague — and it takes you to the largest gun range in the Czech Republic, just 40 minutes from the city centre. While Prague’s indoor ranges offer controlled environments, this experience puts you outdoors on state-of-the-art ranges spanning 25 to 500 metres, shooting in natural daylight with real distance between you and the targets.

This tour is operated by the same team behind RANGER Prague — but instead of their city-centre indoor facility, you’re taken to their expansive outdoor complex in the countryside. The instructors are former police officers and Czech army soldiers, not tourism guides. They bring genuine military expertise to every session, making this feel more authentic than any indoor range can.

Five packages scale from a 3-gun taster at 2,125 CZK (€85) to the comprehensive 10-gun experience at 4,250 CZK (€170). All packages include air-conditioned bus transfer from central Prague, snacks, drinks, safety equipment, ammunition, and English-speaking instruction. This is a half-day experience lasting approximately 4 hours — making it a substantial activity that fills a morning or afternoon.

? Which package should you choose? The 5 Guns (2,875 CZK / €115) is the most popular starter — it covers the essential weapon types (pistol, assault rifles, submachine gun, shotgun) at a good price. The 7 Guns (3,625 CZK / €145) is the best value, adding the Magnum revolver and a sniper rifle for the full outdoor experience. The 10 Guns (4,250 CZK / €170) is the complete arsenal — every weapon the range offers, including the UZI, Winchester, and Dragunov.

Firearms Available

The outdoor range stocks 10 different firearms spanning pistols, revolvers, submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, lever-action rifles, and sniper rifles. Shooting outdoors at distances up to 500 metres gives certain weapons — especially the Dragunov sniper rifle and AR-15 — a completely different feel compared to indoor ranges.

Shooting outdoors at real distance — lanes span 25 to 500 metres at the largest range in the Czech Republic.

The Dragunov sniper rifle is the standout weapon of the outdoor experience — shooting at targets hundreds of metres away in open air is something no indoor range can replicate. The Winchester lever-action delivers the classic Wild West feel, while the AK-47 remains the crowd favourite across all packages.

What to Expect

Meeting Point & Transfer (40 minutes)

The tour departs from a central meeting point at Řásnovka 768/12, Staré Město (Praha 1) — right in the heart of the Old Town, near the Vltava river. Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time. An air-conditioned bus takes you to the outdoor range, approximately 40 minutes outside Prague. The drive passes through the Czech countryside, and your English-speaking instructor may brief you on the experience during the journey.

Arrival & Safety Briefing

On arrival at the outdoor facility, your instructor — a former Czech army soldier or police officer — delivers a thorough safety briefing covering stance, grip, aiming, trigger control, and range protocols. The briefing is in clear English and tailored to your experience level. Safety equipment (ear protection and safety glasses) is provided.

The Shooting Session (1–2 hours)

You’ll move between different outdoor shooting positions as you work through your package. The open-air ranges span 25 to 500 metres, giving you genuine distance shooting — a completely different experience from indoor ranges where targets are typically 10–25 metres away. Your instructor stays with you throughout, guiding you through each firearm, adjusting your technique, and helping you engage targets at increasing distances.

The sensation of shooting outdoors — with natural light, wind, and real distance — is dramatically different from an indoor range. The sound is bigger, the recoil feels more real, and hitting a distant target is significantly more satisfying. Photos and videos are welcome throughout the session.

Snack Break & Return

After your session, enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks at the range. The bus then returns you to the meeting point in central Prague. Total experience time is approximately 4 hours from departure to return.

Visitor Tips

  • Dress for the outdoors. Unlike indoor ranges, you’re exposed to the weather. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (boots or trainers), comfortable trousers, and a high-collared top. In winter, bring warm layers. In summer, bring sunscreen and a hat.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early at the Řásnovka meeting point. The bus departs on schedule and won’t wait for latecomers.
  • This is a half-day activity (4 hours) — plan accordingly. It works well as a morning excursion, leaving the afternoon free for sightseeing.
  • The 7 Guns package (3,625 CZK / €145) is the sweet spot. It adds the sniper rifle and Magnum revolver to the standard lineup — both of which are dramatically better outdoors than indoors.
  • The Dragunov sniper rifle is the must-try weapon here. Shooting at targets hundreds of metres away in open air is something no indoor range can offer — it’s the unique selling point of this experience.
  • Wind affects your shots. Your instructor will teach you how to compensate — this is part of what makes outdoor shooting a different skill set from indoor shooting.
  • For stag parties: this is the more adventurous option compared to indoor ranges. The 10 Guns package with the full arsenal makes for an epic group day out.
  • Bring your passport — not just an EU ID card. The outdoor range has stricter requirements than the city-centre indoor ranges.
  • Photos look better outdoors. Natural lighting and the countryside backdrop make for more impressive photos and videos than indoor range shots.
  • If you want the indoor experience instead, the RANGER Prague indoor range offers the same package structure at a walk-in city-centre location — run by the same operator.

What Visitors Say

The Prague outdoor shooting experience holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 18 reviews on Viator. While this is a newer listing with fewer reviews than the indoor options, it benefits from the reputation of the RANGER Prague team — who collectively hold 4,364+ reviews on their indoor range with the same 5.0 rating.

Viator ReviewerVerified Booking
★★★★★
“Absolutely incredible experience. Shooting outdoors is a completely different beast — the Dragunov at 200 metres was the highlight of our trip to Prague. The instructors are clearly ex-military and know their stuff.”
Viator ReviewerGroup Booking
★★★★★
“We booked the 10 gun package for our stag do and it was easily the best activity of the weekend. The bus ride was comfortable, the range is massive, and the instructors made everyone feel safe even though most of us had never fired a gun before.”
Viator ReviewerVerified Booking
★★★★★
“Much better than an indoor range. The open-air setting, the countryside, and the distance shooting make it feel real. Snacks and drinks were a nice touch. The transfer was well-organised and on time.”

Reviewers consistently highlight the difference between outdoor and indoor shooting — the distance, the natural setting, and the more authentic military-style feel. The instructors’ military backgrounds are mentioned frequently. The main consideration is the 4-hour time commitment, which is twice as long as indoor range experiences.
